Wrapped up Oct 10 with a closing which was well attended. Stephanie Patsula ask me to submit a piece, so we installed my largest Canvas 48"x48" part of my "Hidden Works" Exhibition.
The piece begins with me as the Marigold seed, amongst the flowers which represent my life during my marriage. The next part of the painting represents the death of a flower, but in fact is really the death of a relationship. The third stage, is rebirth of a plant which is like a new beginning in life and were I am now. In all the pieces changes are made by the use of the degree of color. Art is truly a healer.

"Seeds of Life/Seeds of a Human" These pictures represent special people in my life, Barry and Brian who I was married to for 30 years.
Seeds of a Plant/Seeds of a Human Twelve small pieces represent my children and grandchildren and myself. My Garden became a way of me to create my journey during a difficult time in my life and allowing me to reach a place were I am today. Through the many ups and downs today I am in a good place and art has become my soulmate. Art had become my healer.
This 4"x4" Acrylic Canvas " Today" this piece at the bottom I am the marigold seed, hidden in my life beyond 12 yrs ago, then death of a plant and what I felt was death came upon me. However death is a very quiet place and a place for me to discover me and then rebirth and were I am today. In a happy place.
"Death of a Plant/Death of a Human"
This does not look like death to me, this is the second time I painted Death of a Plant/Human but each time I paint it, Death becomes so much more alive. For me the paint brush speaks and I allow it to take control.

Arnica First Exhibition and my first solo show.
"Mr Marcus's Wheat Field" This took place in Ontario, as young children we would play in his field creating a maze and then one day we got caught by dad. He took out his shot gun and shot in the air. GET OUT HE SHOUTED, OR I'LL SHOOT, BANG. The pictures represent what he said and the maze was created out of pink roap rope that I unravelled and placed on a frame to represent Mr. Marcu's Wheat Field. After that we no longer trampled down that wheatfield but we sure learned how to run fast.
Tornado, This piece was created out of small blocks I had from left over projects during the year. The piece represents the Tornado coming through as we stood there to bury my father so many years ago. The wind came up and we almost landed in the hole with dad. Us girls laughed and said Old Willy Wyers is not done with us yet. The boys looked at us laughing girls in a discussed look as they didnt know what we were laughing about. When showing this piece I put up a screen and showed pictures and sound of a Tornado coming through and then flash the pictures of the destruction and death that followed
"CHILDREN WITH AIDS IN AFRICA'" This was pictures created for a workshop I did with children to create and awarness of aids in Africa, they were creating art in order to raise awarness and money for Africa.
Just playing around with Water Colors. Inspired by the grandchildren.

Burying the past, 11 ft of kint wire, knit in different tensions.represent the journey of my life during a hard time. Brians hands and mine placed on metal plates other than one which was me holding Kaela as an infant. All Brians hands feel off the plate, but Kaela remind on the last plate. Did this signify the ending of something that had lasted for 30 years. The journey began and through art I have been able to survive and find myself.
Again I found a way in art to create my healing journey, this time through my old 1910 home on Nicola St. I buried my past beyond the walls and later built this piece representing the home, with the Ghost in Rm # 4 and items and wall paper I found in the house.

This was a game, the paper mache balls would be thrown back and forth, each time it was passed to you it would land a different way and this would teach you more about the girls of the street and the lingo. I had search the web to find missing women, but many years before the Pig Farmer was caught, how weird to see the diaries and pictures of the victims of this bazarre event.
"Me Dancing" Acrylic. Beyond the stain glass window I dance, how dark it is inside as my gown flow as I sadly dance to the music, but beyond the glass outside it is bright as the sun shines. This piece was created from the shadow of the stained glass as it moved across the canvas as I quickly began to sketch where the shadows hit, I did this three more times and so when I painted it I also painted it four different days and watched my moods change each day, Frightened that each day may ruin the picture. How scarry it was as it developed and I realized that I was the shadow beyond the window.
Political statement "CAGED CHICKENS" This piece had been enclosed with a wooden dowel cage I had created for the presentation for class. After my event on Commercial Drive near the plant as I walked by closing my eyes and plugging my nose, holding onto someone to direct me to were we were going. I never ate chicken again.

We
were to use objects we used daily in our homes, so I choose to use the
clock, hairbrush and candle, which turn out for me to be the lake the
sun and the highrises. With the saying within the painting "The
Light Flickers" "Aware of Time" and "Flowing through Hair"
